8888 is the information service launched by Indiatimes on SMS. Indiatimes, under
the aegis of the Times of India Group, has a vast repository of information and
data. After print, radio, television and Internet, 8888 is the group's foray
into the world of mobile telephony. A mobile user, almost anywhere in India, can
access Indiatimes SMS service by sending specific keywords to the number 8888
(not +8888, not even +918888, but simply 8888). So, whether you subscribe to
Airtel, Hutch-Essar, Escotel, Spice, BPL Mobile or BATATA, you simplt have to
type the keyword of the desired service and send it to 8888.
- HDFC (SMS Banking)
Mobile Banking on regular mobile phones can be conducted with normal SMS codes.
- Midday (News on
the move)
Step 1: To activate SMS, go to message settings and enter the message
center number +919821000005. This needs to be done once.
Step 2: Send 'miNews' to 333.
Step 3: Send 'unsub' to 333 to unsubscribe the service.
